a reminder "that it’s okay to get weird every now and then"

Lisa Congdon shared this video on facebook today and because I can´t say it any better than Amelia Diamond who wrote the sweet article and showed the video, I´m quoting:

"Sometimes it takes a preschooler in a tutu to remind us all that it’s okay to get weird every now and then."

If you haven´t watched it yet, you have to, full screen! Promise!  :)

Medley of good things.... - part 3

a while back I was asked to make a tiered cake for the cute magazine Spoonful

Spoonful is a short and inspiring little publication which, in light of our insanely busy lives, can be finished by the end of a train ride. It's quick to consume, beautifully soft, & after reading will genuinely make you smile.

 The magazine can be ordered here

and because I had so much fun making her, I made another one for my dear friend

Enjoy the weekend!

from this {5 designs made for Baenderei Kafka, Wuppertal, Germany}

to that {woven Jaquard Ribbons}

I´m so happy how they turned out. The ribbons are already in my shop , the bows will follow soon too

I thought I could be back much earlier, to blog more often again and especially say THANK YOU for your comments and emails on my last blog post. It took longer than I had wished, but let me tell you I was overwhelmed and very touched by every response. Sometimes life comes up with the most incredible "jokes", don´t you think and then it´s good to be reminded not being alone and to read that some of you have gone through challenging times as well and survived. Thank you!

It´s better to not promise daily updates from now on, but it should not take thaaaaat long any  more ;)
There is more new stuff I have to show you anyway :).

Love, Sandra

2013 has been a difficult year for me so far. My life has changed and I have moved to a new place. The last months I´ve not been completely unproductive although not as productive as I had wished.

This is a first hello again from my new home. I´m here since 1 month now, still trying to make this place something that feels like home and a space where I can be creative again.

Some of you, dear friends and blog followers sent me emails, sorry if you are still waiting for a response.  I will answer each of your emails.

For now thanks for your loving care and your patience! Talk more soon.

on my desk...

tiny stuff, made from cardboard and paper. Working on new desings for Little Tiger again.

Last weekend I´ve been to an inspiring place, the workhall, shop and restaurant of Dutch Designer Piet Hein Eek
in Eindhoven/Netherlands. I brougt home some Italian silk fabrics, which belonged to a former tie
manufacturer in Milano. From these silks also these beautiful lampshades are made.

Unfortunately most of photos I took came out very blurry, only a few made it to flickr.
