weekend pleasures

yesterday gave a pre-taste of summer. Spent the day with gardening and planting, a delicious dinner outside with
Tarte Tatin Surprise (from Yotam Ottolenghi) and Caipirinha. If you like Tartes you should try it, I think it´s to die for.
Here you can find the Recipe

I had no fresh Oregano, instead I took fresh Thyme, which was very tasty too.

some things that made me feel good this week

this cute postcard in my mail. It´s from Lidar and Rafael, who thought of me because of this post and my paper works, I guess.
Double strike, so to say. Thank you!

+ Elsas blog, it gave me much positive energy and motivation this week in various fields.
I think all of her work is incredibly beautiful

+ some new illustrations I finished for Little Tiger, being published later this year

+ Nathalie Letés "Bric a Brac" book, which seems hard to get (I happily found a last copy here)

+ and finally my little grumpy girl, named Fríða

Weekend is already lurking around the corner. In the afternoon I have to do some studio cleaning,
especially removing paper snippets from the floor and looking forward to  Silke´s visit on Monday.
Silke makes amazing screenprinted fabrics and I can´t wait to see them in real.

Wishing you a nice weekend, lovelies!

I am many

and he is right, at least when looking at his "ingredients". For my paper cuts I love to use paper from packages,
postcards, flyers etc. with nice colors or patters. Some of these papers are also connected with the person
that gave it to me. Choosing and cutting this paper makes me think of that person and often puts a smile on my face.

Below is a picture of most of the papers that went into this little guy.

(1) inside pattern of an envelope (Kristin had sent me a bunch of it with different patterns a while back)
(2) liqueur packaging
(3) envelope made from a vintage wallpaper sent by a friend together with a party invitation
(4) amazing handmade paper bought some years ago at IKEA. Not much left anymore and if it´s gone I won´t
be able to make paper vikings anymore ;). If anybody knows where to get it, please let me know!
(5) packaging of hughe incense sticks my brother brought from a Thailand vacation
(6) invitation for a fair

Here´s another viking-ingredients picture I´ve done before

Now back to scissors again

ricepudding with cherries and cinnamon sugar....

...was the welcome meal for viking Lasse

that´s what I learned from little B., whose mum recently got a viking for him.

and because moving to a new place is always exciting and also a bit terrifying,
B. drew a welcome poster for Lasse, to make him feel at home right away.

Many thanks to B.´s mum for allowing me to share the pics with you.
A HUGHE thanks to B. for the warm welcome of Lasse and for sharing
one of the vikings top-secrets (even I didn´t know before):

ricepudding with cherries and cinnamon sugar is the vikings favorite meal!

weekend pleasures

in the last weeks there was not much time for meeting people.
But yesterday we finally had a dinner party in the studio and it was so much fun.
I tried some recipes from my current favorite cookbook and this oh so yummy Persian Spinach dip
from one of my favorite food blogs

Christine, brought me a lovely gift. A handmade box, coverd with fabric and decorated with one
of "my" woven ribbons.
Yeah, yeah lucky me :)

Did you have a wonderful weekend too?
