2 new magazines at my table, both sharing my work.
Uppercase published in Canada (inspirational and beautiful) I love it and Nido (a new German magazine for young families).


Thank you for your help with the fabric patterns. For the first I´ve order some swatches of fabric pattern 2, 3 and a new one below.
I also think about having the fabrics printed by a German company I´ve talked to.



For a screenprint on fabric project I´m looking for a screenprinter, primarily located in Germany or Europe. Anybody here interested in a collaboration project?

hello friends, thank you very much for your voices!

Seems the first pattern finds more support than the second one.
I had favorited the second one, but I also agree that it is very bold and crowded.
Liz suggested a 3rd option, something more in between 1 and 2 and that´s what I tried to reach with pattern#3.

I like #3 better than #1, which seems to me now a bit too "ZEN", especially imagining the print in dimensions of one yard.
Hope not to overstrain you, but how about #3? Better than #1 or not?

Can´t decide which pattern I like better. Needs some imagination to visualize this pic showing one yard of fabric, or 91,44 cm

I think both patterns would be nice for pillows or bags, etc.

once upon a time.... fearsome longships with dragon-heads and blood red sails were crossing the oceans. Glimpsing them coming to shore, you better took your heels...

this is a so called German "Fruehstuecksbrettchen", there seems no appropriate word to exist in the English language as it is obviously not popular outside Germany (?). Maybe "bread board" fits best. If you know a better word for it, I´d be happy to know :)

my dear readers you are great! Thanks so much for supporting the "Jeannie" campain. The 3 stamps were sold quick and some of you who were too late to catch one told me to have a look in Beates shops. Thanks so much!


A while back I posted the little paper bags, made from recycled paper. I recieved some emails how to make them. Therefore I have drawn a tutorial for you. Maybe also take a look at the photograph (in the paper bags post) to understand the final steps better.



This postcard with an original drawing I recieved from Natascha Rosenberg, one of my favorite illustrators, yippiiiiee. In times of email communications it´s so nice to find some real mail in the real mailbox, don´t you think? I´ll have to write more letters and cards :)

Jeannie needs help

little puppie Jeannie of fiber artist and photograher Beate Knappe had a worse accident.



She was hit by a car, has several injuries and needs some surgical interventions. Beate is raising money to pay the expensive veterinary clinic costs.

It would be wonderful if we could help Beate and her little puppy to pay the bills. There are several ways to help Beate raising money, by purchasing some of her amazing fiber works or photographs as Xmas gifts, or her Jeannie postcard, or maybe a little donation would be of great help as well. And here comes the solution: the night before I made the drawing, I had this nightmare, dreaming my hand had been cut off by an accident and after surgery I woke up with my hand beening re-attached backwards. Doctor said, no problem, you will get used to it...
Just a dream, but not THE lie I asked you to find.

The funny thing is that I made an unintended mistake. I almost fell off my chair of laughing, after the first person recognized it and left a comment. I mixed up the weekdays, but this was not my intetion. So that was also not THE lie, at least not the intended one.

THE lie in the drawing was I had NO umbrella with me, cause I never have an umbrella with me when it rains. Whenever you see me walking out the door with an umbrella in my hand you can for sure leave yours at home. No rain that day!

Ok, before you are grumbling and thinking what a mean ass she is, here is some compensation for the first 3 who had found the Tuesday-Thursday mistake, which are Jamee, sosser and ellabella.
